Sprint i Trondheim

Sprint i Bergen 2016

Se sperret terreng her eller se helgens Eventor-side.

Velkommen tilbake i 2017!

SPAS ready for all races - also Final and Urb-O

SPAS is now ready for all races - including the Final and the Urb-O Sprint at the "Results and Map" page. Please enter your routes also for the Final and the Urb-O Sprint.

In the "Analysis" tab in SPAS there is now a written analysis for most legs in all races except Urb-O. The Final analysis is preliminary as it is difficult to make a full analysis without YOUR input.

Michiels and Vinogradova winners of Bergen Sprint Camp 2015

The favourites Yannick Michiels and Galina Vinogradova won the exciting final race in Bergen Sprint Camp after tough fights throughout the race.

Both the forking system and the longer route choice legs split up the runners several times - the key to winning today was to trust yourself and take your own choices. Can you spot the best route to control 20 in the women's/21 in the men's class (map here)?

See below for video interviews with the top 3 in both men and women classes.

Overall results Men

BSC Final Analysis slides

The illustration above shows the long leg in the men's course. Going all the way to the right (C) is a good alternative as you can take the climb gradually instead of taking all up the stairs like in the other alternatives. Note that the direct alternative (D) is  more than 100 meters shorter than C, but you must climb over a hill and down again at the middle of the leg.

The analysis slides from the BSC final are now available here. SPAS will be available late tonight. GPS-tracking and full maps are available at the "Maps and Results" page.

Live results and GPS-tracking from the BSC final

Results are updated at regular intervals (semi-live results) at this location. Note however that these are course running times, and not overall results. GPS-tracking. GPS-tracking will be live from the start of the A-finals at 11:29 - see the "Maps and Results" page. The startlist is available under "Startlists and information". The streets are slippery today as the sky is clear and it got colder tonight - please use good shoes, and be careful.

Update: SPAS Analysis from Urb-o Sprint is now up! Please add your routes: ABCDE. SPAS analysis for CitySprint is also updated with text-based analysis.

Startlist Final and Overall Results

Yannick Michiels (Belgium) and Galina Vinogradova (Russia) are the Bergen Sprint Camp leaders after three of four races. The preliminary startlist for Sunday's final is now ready under "Information and startlists". Overall results are available at the "Results and maps" page (on the top of the page - direct link).

The following 6 men and 6 women will fight for the victory in Bergen Sprint camp on Sunday:

Men: Yannick Michiels, Jonas Vytautas Gvildys, Gaute Hallan Steiwer, Nicolas Simonin, Antonio Martinez Perez, Scott Fraser.

Women: Galina Vinogradova, Kine Hallan Steiwer, Ida Marie Næss Bjørgul, Mari Fasting, Emilie Westli Andersen, Kristine Fjellanger.

Presentations Saturday evening

Yannick Michiels and Tim Robertson had very interesting presentation Saturday evening - explaining their way towards the top of international sprint orienteering. The last part of the evening was devoted to an analysis session with Jan Kocbach.

Robertson highlighted how he has used many other sports as a basis for his way to the top - and he also talked warmly about the useful experience he has gained by coaching younger athletes. Michiels talked a lot about his training regime and his preparation for the important races - running 600-650 kilometer per month in the winter months. Both Robertson and Michiels got many questions from the audience - many were especially curious about Michiels' training and testing methods.

The presentations are available at the "Results and Maps" page.

Urb-O Sprint: Mari Fasting and Gaute Hallan Steiwer fastest

Mari Fasting and Gaute Hallan Steiwer had the best speed in today's Urb-o Sprint. Hallan Steiwer won 4 of 5 loops - while Fasting won 3 of 5 loops.

Updated with overall results after Urb-O sprint.

Other loop winners were Gabija Razaityte, Kine Hallan Steiwer and Trond Einar Moen Pedersli. Did the international guests save the power for tomorrow?

The popular Urb-o Sprint brought a lot of action - below is a video from one of Eva Jurenikova's loops. Results and maps from the Urb-o Sprint are available at the results and maps page.

Overall results after Urb-O  are found here.

The usual SPAS analysis for the Urb-o Sprint will be available late tonight. For now you can enjoy slides with routechoices and lengths from today's Urb-o Sprint.

Remember to enter your route choices in SPAS for the city sprint before dinner (Men / Women)!

Start lists for tomorrow will be available at 22:30 tonight.

Bysprint: Vinogradova, Pedersli and Steiwer

Gaute Hallan Steiwer and Trond Einar Moen Pedersli took a shared victory in the men's class while last year's overall BSC winner Galina Vinogradova won the women's race. Another day with tricky orienteering - but today the winners were a bit closer to a perfect race than yesterday.

Results, split times, overall results, maps, GPS-tracking and SPAS analysis from today's race is available under "Results and Maps". SPAS is now updated with split times - please add your routes so that we have what we need for the analysis tonight  (Men / Women)!

In the overall Yannick Michiels has built up a clear lead ahead of Scott Fraser in the men's class, whereas Galina Vinogradova and Anne Johanne Lind share the lead after each taking one win and one second place.

Unofficial overall results

Spas Bysprint: Please enter your routechoices

Please enter your routechoices into SPAS Citysprint and Nightsprint now! SPAS is the ultimate analysis tool for sprint orienteering. For the Nightsprint SPAS now includes a comprehensive written analysis for each leg under the "Analysis" Tab. So please help yourself and the others by entering your routechoices into SPAS.

Live results, GPS tracking and SPAS for Citysprint

Live results and split times from the Citysprint will be updated regularly during the race. Live GPS-tracking will be available from 11:10. SPAS will be ready for entry at 11:45. Maps will be available at the "Results and Maps" page after the race is finished. And remember: We play fair at Bergen Sprint Camp - do not look at GPS-tracking before you start!

Victory for Michiels and Lind

Yannick  Michiels and Anne Johanne Lind were fastest when the traditional Nightsprint opened Bergen Sprint Camp 2015 in the area around Haukeland Hospital this evening.

Official results, split times, maps, GPS-tracking, further video interviews and SPAS analysis from today's race is available under "Results and Maps". SPAS is now updated with split times - enjoy the analysis (Men / Women). The orienteering was tricky - and very few managed to take the optimal route choice all the way through the course. The full analysis will be given at the workshop Saturday night.

Startlists for the Citysprint are now available under "Startlists and Information".

Startlister, PM og GPS informasjon

Vennligst sjekk at ditt brikkenummer stemmer. Løpere uten brikkenummer får låne brikke på løpskontoret fredag kveld. Startliste, Nattsprint

Her finner du også PM for løpene.

The start lists for the Night Sprint are finished. Please check your Emit card number. Runners without Emit will get one in the race office Friday night. Check also the PM with all up-to-date information

Do also check if you are wearing GPS and / or number bib. Here is information about use of GPS og list over who will run with a GPS unit. GPS-tracking will be available here from some time before the last start. Bergen Sprint Camp plays fair - do NOT look at GPS-tracking or map before your start.

After the race we ask all runners to put their routechoices into SPAS as soon as possible after finishing the race. These analyses is what makes Bergen Sprint Camp really exciting - but we need YOUR help for it.

Welcome to Bergen, travel safe!  Note that we had some snow on Thursday which may freeze to ice. Bring good shoes, possibly even with dobb spikes - as a reserve.

Startlist, Nightsprint

Snø!

Akkurat nå snør det i Bergen. Vi krysser fingrene for at det kommer kraftig regn i ettermiddag og får vekk alt igjen.

Husk å ta med skor med godt feste!

It's snowing in Bergen right now. We're hoping for some heavy rain this afternoon which can take it all away.

Anyway, bring shoes with good grip!

Other important map features

Except for the impassable symboles in the previous article there are some other important things to consider. Please note that:

1 - This road may not be crossed..
2 - ..except at the crossing points.
3 - It is still possible to run along the sidewalks on each side.
4 - Important tunnel openings will be marked as crossing points.
5 - It is possible to pass under the out-of-bounds area inside the tunnel. The tunnel is marked with the dotted black lines.
6 - There can also be very short tunnels. The red arrows show a possible passage.

Hopefully all of this will be understandable!
